The committee shall contribute to promoting Norwegian expertise and interests in the development of international and European standards within Ship and Marine Technology.

The committee will support the Norwegian participants in international committees and working groups. It will also provide recommendations on how Standard Norway should vote on matters presented by ISO/TC, including preparing Norwegian comments and determining whether proposed standards comply with Norwegian laws and regulations.

The committee will propose and, if necessary, develop Norwegian supplementary documents for the adopted standards and assess the need to translate the standards into Norwegian, including contributing to Norwegian terminology.

The committee will assess and propose new standards and additional products based on national needs in the area.

The committee will help promote the use of the standards by suggesting courses, seminars, informational materials, etc.
